Dasha System In vedic Astrology:A guide

what is Dasa System?

There is no single answer to this question as the dasa system is an astrological technique that can be used in a variety of ways, depending on the specific question being asked. In general, however, the dasa system is used to predict events in an individual’s life based on the relative positions of the planets at the time of their birth. Each planet is associated with a particular time period, or dasa, and the events that occur during that time period are thought to be influenced by the planet in question. Thus, by understanding the planetary positions at the time of someone’s birth, an astrologer can make predictions about what kinds of events that person is likely to experience during different phases of their life.

Ketu 7 years

Rahu 18 years

Sun 6 years

Moon 10 years

Mars 7 years

Mercury 17 years

Jupiter 16 years

Venus 20 years

Saturn 19 years. These time periods are known as the Vimshottari Dasa system and are used by many astrologers to make predictions about an individual’s life.

The dasa system is just one of many techniques used in Vedic astrology, however it is considered to be one of the most important. This is because the dasa system can provide a great deal of information about an individual’s life, including their past, present, and future. Additionally, the dasa system can be used to make predictions about specific events that may occur in an individual’s life, such as marriage, children, career, etc. Thus, if you are interested in learning more about yourself or someone else, the dasa system is definitely something you should look into.

Antar Dasa: The Vimshottari dasa system is further divided into smaller time periods known as antar dasas. These are generally used to predict events that will occur during the main dasa period. For example, if someone is in their Rahu dasa, an astrologer may use the antar dasa to predict specific events that will occur during that time.

Pratyantar Dasa: The final subdivision of the Vimshottari dasa system is known as the pratyantar dasa. This is used to predict events that will occur in between the main dasa periods. For example, if someone is in their Rahu dasa, an astrologer may use the pratyantar dasa to predict events that will occur in between the Rahu and Ketu dasas.

The dasa system is a powerful tool that can be used to gain insights into an individual’s life. If you are interested in learning more about yourself or someone else, I highly recommend you look into this astrological technique.

The star or nakshatra you are born determines the dasa at time of birth . The Vimshottari dasa system is the most commonly used, and it is based on the 27 nakshatras or constellations. This system assigns a different planet to each nakshatra, and the order is as follows:

Rahu – Ketu

Sun – Moon

Mars – Mercury

Jupiter – Venus

Saturn – Saturn

The time period assigned to each planet varies depending on which nakshatra you are born under. For example, if you are born under the nakshatra Ashwini, your Rahu dasa will last for 18 years. However, if you are born under the nakshatra Magha, your Rahu dasa will only last for 7 years.

The dasa system is a powerful tool that can be used to gain insights into an individual’s life.***

Current Transit of planets should also be considered for prediction .For better results, the dasa and transit should be considered together.

The current transits of planets can have a significant impact on your life, so it’s important to take them into account when making predictions. For the most accurate results, consider both the dasa and transit together.

What are the current planetary transits in the year 2022?

The current transits for the year 2022 are:

Jupiter in Capricorn: December 19, 2021 – March 7, 2023

Saturn in Aquarius: March 23, 2023 – March 3, 2024

Uranus in Taurus: April 25, 2023 – August 21, 2025

Neptune in Pisces: February 3, 2024 – January 31, 2025

Pluto in Capricorn: April 4, 2024 – March 23, 2025.

These transits can have a major impact on your life, so be sure to take them into account when making predictions for the year ahead.

Moon transits any Rashi in 2.5 days .So moon transits in all the twelve Rashis in one month .Hence moon’s transit is very important for prediction .

Other planets like Mercury ,Venus, mars, jupiter, saturn ,rahu and ketu takes months or years to complete one Rashi transit. Hence their transits are also important for prediction.Transit of slow moving planets are more important than fast moving planets.

But all the transits should not be taken into account for prediction. The most important transits which should be considered for prediction are:

1)The transit of planet in its own sign or exaltation sign.

2)The transit of planet in friend’s sign.

3)The transit of planet in 5th ,9th or 11 th house from natal moon.

4)The transit of jupiter and saturn in trines(5th,9th or 11 th house)from natal moon.

5)Conjunction ,opposition or aspect of fast moving planets with slow moving planets.

6) stationery planets(i.e planets which are neither Retrograde nor Direct )in important houses.

7) Retrogade planets in important houses.

8)Dasa changes .

The above transits are more important than the other transits for prediction .But the final result will depend on the strength of planets ,their position from lagna, their relationship with other planets ,dasa changes etc.

A planet in good dignity will give good results even in adverse transits but a planet in bad dignity will not give good results even in favourable transits.
