Guna Milan For Marriage:A guide to matching for marriage in Vedic Astrology

How to summarise matching for marriage in vedic Astrology?

In Vedic astrology, the process of finding a suitable match for marriage is known as Guna Milan. This involves matching the Kundali (birth charts) of the proposed bride and groom to see if they are compatible with each other. The eight gunas that are used for this purpose are: Varna, Vasya, Tara, Yoni, Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi. Each of these gunas has a different weightage and the total score of all eight gunas is 36. A score of 18 or above is considered to be a good match, while anything below that is not considered ideal.

There are a few other things that are also taken into consideration while doing Guna Milan, such as the Manglik status of the proposed bride and groom, their financial stability and the compatibility of their respective families. However, the gunas are still the most important factor in this process.

Manglik Meaning?

Manglik is a term used in Vedic astrology to refer to a person who has the planet Mars in their birth chart. Mangal Dosha is the name given to the negative impact that this placement of Mars can have on a person’s life, especially in terms of their marriage and relationships.

A Manglik person is said to be cursed and their marriage is considered to be unlucky. It is believed that Manglik people are more prone to divorce and marital problems. Therefore, it is important to consider the Manglik status of both the proposed bride and groom before getting married.

There are various ways to nullify the effects of Mangal Dosha, such as doing specific rituals or marrying a Manglik person of the opposite sex. However, it is still considered to be better to marry a non-Manglik person if possible.

Nadi Dosha

Nadi Dosha is another important factor that is considered while doing Guna Milan. It is said that there are three types of Nadis – Vata, Pitta and Kapha. A match between two people who have the same Nadi is not considered to be ideal as it is believed that they will not be compatible with each other.

It is also said that the children of such a marriage will not be healthy. Therefore, it is important to match the Nadis of the proposed bride and groom before getting married.

Gana Dosha

Gana Dosha is another important factor to consider while doing Guna Milan. There are three types of Ganas – Deva, Manushya and Rakshasa. A match between two people who have the same Gana is not considered ideal as it is believed that they will not be compatible with each other.

It is also said that the children of such a marriage will not be healthy. Therefore, it is important to match the Ganas of the proposed bride and groom before getting married.

Bhakoot Dosha

Bhakoot Dosha is another factor that is considered while doing Guna Milan. It is said that there are seven Bhakoots – Vata, Pitta, Kapha, Ajaikapada, Shatrughna, Dushtana and Vaidhruthi. A match between two people who have the same Bhakoot is not considered ideal as it is believed that they will not be compatible with each other.

It is also said that the children of such a marriage will not be healthy. Therefore, it is important to match the Bhakoots of the proposed bride and groom before getting married.

Vedic astrology has many different methods of finding a suitable match for marriage. Guna Milan is just one of them. However, it is still considered to be the most important factor in this process. Therefore, it is important to consult a qualified astrologer before getting married to ensure that you are making the best possible decision.

What is Guna Milan?

Guna Milan is a process of matchmaking that is used in Vedic astrology. This process is used to determine the compatibility of two people for the purpose of marriage. The eight factors that are used for this purpose are: Varna, Vasya, Tara, Yoni, Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi. Each of these gunas has a different weightage and the total score of all eight gunas is 36. A score of 18 or above is considered to be a good match, while anything below that is not considered ideal.

There are a few other things that are also taken into consideration while doing Tara Milan , such as the age of the bride and groom, their mental and physical compatibility, their financial status, etc. However, the eight gunas are still considered to be the most important factor in this process.

How Guna Milan is Done?

The first step in doing Guna Milan is to calculate the Guna points for both the boy and girl. This is done by taking into account their birth data, such as their date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. Once the Guna points have been calculated, they are compared with each other to see how compatible the two individuals are.

The second step is to compare the Bhakoot points of both the boy and girl. This is done by taking into account their Moon signs. Once the Bhakoot points have been calculated, they are compared with each other to see how compatible the two individuals are.

The third and final step is to compare the Nadi points of both the boy and girl. This is done by taking into account their Ascendant signs. Once the Nadi points have been calculated, they are compared with each other to see how compatible the two individuals are.

Once all three steps have been completed, the total Guna Milan score is calculated. A score of 18 or above is considered to be a good match, while anything below that is not considered ideal.

What are the Limitations of Guna Milan?

Guna Milan is just one method of matchmaking that is used in Vedic astrology. There are other methods as well, such as Manglik Dosha, which are also used to determine the compatibility of two people for the purpose of marriage. Therefore, it is important to consult a qualified astrologer before getting married to ensure that you are making the best possible decision.
