Yogas Formed by Sun and Moon:Vedic Astrology

Yogas in a horoscope formed by Sun and Moon:Anapa and sunapa yogas

In Vedic astrology, a yoga is an auspicious combination of planets in a horoscope. Yogas are formed when two or more planets occupy particular positions in relation to each other. When Sun and Moon come together in the same sign or house, they form a special type of yoga called Rashi Parivartan Yoga. This yoga is very powerful and can bring substantial changes in the life of an individual.

Rashi Parivartan Yoga brings about transformation in the personality and lifestyle of a person. It helps them to achieve success in different areas of their lives, such as career, relationships, finances, health, etc. This yoga also enhances imagination and creativity and can lead to spiritual growth. People with this yoga tend to be highly intuitive and have strong leadership qualities. They are usually able to make wise decisions quickly even under difficult circumstances.

In Vedic astrology, the Moon represents the mind, which is known for being volatile. Similar to how the Moon appears to expand and contract from Earth, the nature of the mind also changes frequently. For a stable mind, the Moon requires support from other planets in the astrological chart. Ideally, there should be other planets near the Moon in the chart for best results. If the Moon is alone in a horoscope without any neighboring planets, then the mind may be unstable, leading to Kemadruma yoga.

Anapa Yoga:

Anapha Yoga is a significant Raj Yoga in astrology because it has a profound impact on an individual’s life. This yoga is formed when one or more of the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn is located in the 12th house from the Moon. It is considered to be one of the most positive indications in Vedic astrology, endowing an individual with good health, wisdom, strength, and wealth. It is a powerful yoga that can bring many blessings and even elevate a person to the status of a king.

Anapha Yoga’s Benefits

People with Anapha Yoga tend to have attractive looks and achieve high social status in their lives. They lead a balanced life with happiness and prosperity, and are also generous and kind-hearted. They possess excellent public speaking skills and often have leadership qualities. They are generally healthy and are not prone to incurable diseases. They also tend to receive support from influential people and have a happy married life.

One of the well-known individuals with Anapha Yoga in their birth chart is Theodore Roosevelt, and another is the renowned Indian mystic Ramakrishna Paramhansa who displayed this combination. Saturn’s placement in the chart, specifically its relation to the Moon, led to Ramakrishna’s inclination towards asceticism. Although typically considered unfavorable, Saturn in this instance provided him with exceptional wisdom and detachment. The Anapha Yoga in Ramakrishna’s horoscope naturally paved the way for a spiritual awakening.

There are different types of Anapha Yoga: Subha Adhi Yoga, Papa Adhi Yoga, and Mixed Adhi Yoga. Its nature depends on the planet it is linked with. Mercury can enhance oratory skills, Jupiter can bring out kindness and generosity, Mars can lead to powerful leadership, and Venus can make someone charming and attractive to women.According to Vedic astrology, the placement of Saturn in this position could cause a sense of dissatisfaction in one’s spiritual journey or overall life experience. Anapha Yoga is considered to be one of the advantageous forms of Raj Yogas in this context.

The Sunapha Yoga is formed when a planet (other than the Sun) is in the second house from the Moon. This yoga can manifest in 31 different ways. Its focus is on accumulating and holding onto wealth, as there are planets in the second house from the Moon. Contrastingly, the Anapha yoga emphasizes spending and enjoyment, as it forms due to planets in the 12th house from the Moon. The combination of Sunapha and Anapha yoga is called Durudhara yoga.

In order to form Sunapha yoga, one or more of the planets Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn must be in the 2nd house from the Moon. The effects of this will depend on which planet is involved. For example, if Mars is in the 2nd house from the Moon, the person will likely be courageous, hard-working, and wealthy, but may also be rude and cruel in speech, and may frequently oppose others. It is even possible that they will become an army chief.

If a person’s astrological chart shows that they have the Mercury-formed yoga, they are likely to possess intelligence, skillfulness, and expertise in Vedas and shastras. Additionally, they may have poetic abilities, good looks, and a tendency to do good deeds for others. They are also likely to be religious.

On the other hand, if the Jupiter-formed Sunapha yoga is present in the chart, the person is likely to become a teacher and excel in learning. They may also become wealthy, enjoy the support of rulers, and come from a good family.

If Venus is the cause of the yoga, the person will enjoy material comforts, possess good looks, have a spouse and own land and vehicles. They will also have an inclination towards wearing beautiful clothes.

On the other hand, if the yoga is formed by Saturn, the person will be wise, respected by others, skilled, and dedicated to their work. However, this combination is not favorable for the native’s mother. The outcome of the yoga will also be influenced by the association and influence of other planets, as well as the strength of the planets and house lordships, which must all be considered during analysis.

Possible Sunapha yoga combinations with five planets can result in 31 different variations. One scenario involves just one planet in the second house from the Moon, while 2 planets can combine in 10 ways, 3 planets in 10 ways, 4 planets in 5 ways, and 5 planets in 1 way.

Each combination will have different effects, and must thus be studied on a case-by-case basis.

The Sunapha yoga is an important point to consider during astrological readings, as it can have a major impact on the native’s life. With this knowledge, one can gain a deeper understanding of their own horoscope and make better decisions for their future.

Ramakrishna was blessed with the Anapha yoga in his chart, which gave him an exceptional level of wisdom and detachment that allowed him to achieve spiritual enlightenment. Knowing how to interpret Sunapha yoga can help you gain insight into your own chart and determine if you too possess this advantageous combination.
